"Water Mark" in Image

Hi,

I'm making a few pictures to include in a web site, and I want to make an effect ...

... as an example, we often see sites that have pictures with some letters or even a http address printed on some corner, so if anyone gets them, we cna always say where it came from ...

... I want to do this. Yes, it is easy to open the picture and insert some text with small size on some corner, but that is not what I want ... I want some "Water Mark" efect ...

Something like the letters don't have any color, but they are like the picture raised to create those colors ...

I have Paint Shop Pro 7 but I didn't found any effect to that ... 🙁

Did anyone understand what a heck I told? (because I didn't 😀)

Thanks 🙂

I'm not too familiar with Paint Shop Pro... but in Adobe Photoshop you can put the text on a different "layer" in the image while you're making it. When you right-click the layer viewer and select properties you can pick blending and transparency effects. All you'd have to do would be to set the opacity to 50% or so, then once the text is where you want it go to the Layers menu and select "Merge Visible" or "Merge Down" until you have only one layer. Then you would be able to save it as a JPG or other file format.

Hope that helps.

Like this?

I just added my daughter's name to the pic.

In Paint Shop Pro here's what you do:

1. Layers > New Raster Layer
2. Use your text tool to add whatever text you want and place it where you want (I used black text and added a drop shadow)
3. In your layer pallette (layer toolbar), use the slider on the right side to decrease the opacity, I think I went down to about 35.
4. Layers > Merge > Merge All
5. Save it w/ a new name and you're done

I would suggest using a clear like gel text.

I've done it to some of my s/o's pic that he has used for his portfolio in contracting.

It works great and you can still see the part of the picture underneath the pic.

Basically its a clear text.
