Water in water cooler no longer cool

We called up arrowhead and they said that by moving a screw in the back one full turn counterclockwise, and then clockwise 3/4s of the way back and that should reset the thermostat..is that actually a thing? 20 minutes later and there's no difference..
 
Ours has a screw like that. Problem is, it's not very clear as to how much you have to turn, and which side, so we usually just leave it alone. If it just randomly stopped working I'd check the compressor, might of gone poof.
