I have a week 15 AXIA. Right now it's running at 55C no load, 60C load at 1.4Ghz. Is this too hot?
Ok so I figure this is a good chip. I was thinking of buying watercooling this week. Do you think I could get alot more speed out of my chip?
I was looking at the Colorado 120 system on Waterchill. It has a 120mm radiator. It looks like they use an aluminum radiator and a copper waterblock. Is that bad? What's a good watercooling setup? I have an enlight mid-tower case that I'm going to be putting the stuff in. What do ya'll think, would this buy me some extra horsepower for my computer? Would water cooling do a good job with minimal effort and risk?
Please help,
Thanks,

-Richard

I forgot to mention it's an AXIA with Y. And it's at 1.85 volts right now. If I got watercooling I might voltage mod my motherboard....

Water cooling is a fun and rewarding endeavor. There are the obvious risks however, along with a few hidden ones. I would stay away from the copper waterblock/ aluminum resivoir setup. Why take a risk with the battery effect if one can avoid it. I'm not so sure the effort and risk are minimal when compared to air cooling, but I think if a person is careful, investigates the facts, and takes their time when setting up a watercooling system it is a good investment. It is also quite cool.

I haven't setup my watercooling system completely yet, but that is due to the research I've been putting into it and the fact that I'm broke.... d@mn money problems. I have however built a water window and some other cool stuff which I hope to have pics of available at my new site in the near future.

Check out the following sites if you haven't already:

Products:

www.dangerden.com
www.caseetc.com

Info:

www.procooling.com
www.hardocp.com

These are just a few good sites to visit. There are others out there, but I don't have the patience to list them all.

Hope this helps.
