Left mine on for 2 days once before. Wasn't an open hose but had a decent amount of leakage. Realized it 2 days later when I was sitting downstairs wondering why it sounding like a toilet was constantly running. Fifth of the yard was pretty soaked. On the next bill they had a statement about due to the increase I may want to check for a leak in the system.
-Time how long it takes that water source to fill up a gallon jug
-Use that to determine the flow rate
-Multiply that by the amount of time you left it on to get the amount used
-Multiply that by your rate to get how much it will cost
