What a horrible movie. I thought I was watching a series of non-sequiturs until about the last 20 minutes. The plot was extremely difficult to follow and understand without any background of the comics. The soundtrack was put together by a 20 year old in college who selected his top 10 favorite songs off his Ipod. And why are they superheroes if they don't have any super powers? Mr Universe was the only one who could do anything, the others just had some unexplained ninja skills. I had invested so much time into the movie I felt forced to watch the end. It was like someone was twisting my arm and smashing my face into the concrete yelling "watch the end you pussy".

I'm glad I didn't pay to see it.

The movie gets:
+1 for tits
-10 for dude ass and cock
It's been a while since I have unintentionally seen a cock
-100 for being a shit movie

I had to turn it off after about 2 hours. This is one of probably only 3 movies in my life I just couldn't bear to watch anymore.

More technically, I left the room to go do something else and the girl watched it until the end. She also believe going to the dentist or doing housework would be more entertaining than this movie.

The movie dragged and was disorganized. If it had been 90 minutes maybe it would have been better. It was TWO HOURS AND THIRTY FIVE MINUTES LONG. I actually, no fvcking sh*ting you, found that they have an extended version that pulls it up to THREE HOURS.

I am dead serious: Anybody who would watch that three hour version needs to be sent to a labor camp because they are absolutely not contributing anything positive to society.

How childish that the human form bothers you.
The soundtrack was taken literally from the graphic novel, so say my friends
You completely missed the point of the movie with the questions you asked.
The plot was very coherent and not hard to follow at all.

disclaimer: I saw it once, had no other attachment to the film and I have never read the book

Loved it and just bought the Blu-ray so I can watch it again. Watched it with my ex-wfe and she loved it too and she generally does not like superhero movies or anything else of that ilk.

Oh and repost.

Watchmen is FAR from a shit movie. It's too bad you two didn't like it, but it's a very good adaptation of one of the most important comic book/graphic novels in history.

Go watch Wolverine or Transformers 2 if you want to know what a 2009 shit movie is.

The movie and the concepts it embodied was simply too complex to understand for many of the common crowd of moviegoers.

The movie was really made for fans of comic books that like complex far reaching and morally challenging stories. None of the characters in Watchmen was one-dimensional, every character had good and bad, therefore much of the movie fell into a gray area of morality. It is this complex scheme of morality, applied to a comic book world, that gave the movie extreme depth far beyond most superhero / comic movies.

A lot of people didn't like the movie because of "blue dick" or other dumb reasons; these are typically the same type of people that thought Beavis and Butthead was a brilliant cartoon. The OP falls into this category with his comment "-10 for dude ass and cock".

I thought this thread was about Watchmen, not Will Ferrell.

There is so much hyperbole in your post and in your opinion of Watchmen. Yes, I understand you don't like it, but it's not a bad movie. That's a FACT. You not liking it doesn't make it a bad movie.

Did you like any movies this year?

I thought it was alright. The plot was easy to follow, it just didn't make much sense.

The OP's position reminds me precisely of the type of person Jonathan Haidt speaks of that laughs at "that thing dangling in the front" when referring to the statue of Michaelangelo in this seminar:

Don't you DARE insult Beavis and Butthead. That incredible work of art was just too complex for you.

For what it's worth, I loved this movie as did my wife. Most of my friends loved it as well but there are people I hang out with on occasion that couldn't stand the movie because of "dude has his dick hanging out" or "blue dick" or "man ass" etc..

The people that I have watched it with that were big into comics enjoyed it the most. I have watched it 3 times already, twice in the theater and once on DVD, and will watch it again once I get my blu-ray player for comparison. I originally saw it in the iMax which gave it an epic feel. Rorsarch was the true favorite amongst all of my friends, which is funny since he is one of the most morally questionable characters besides the comedian.

How was the plot hard to follow. FFS, I watched it once and understood it without ever having read the comic books.

There you go! If you didn't like it, you're too stupid, right?

Fact is, the movie was just not polished. Certain scenes, like the love scene in that ship above the city added nothing to the movie in any way. The only "superhero" was basically God.

I think mrsskoorb called it possibly the worst movie she'd ever seen. We watched it all. I personally found it okay. I didn't hate it but I'd rather mow the lawn than watch it again.

Regarding the blue guy's genitals I found them utterly magnificent and they added hugely to the movie.

OP was turned off the moment he saw blue c0ck. Now that's all he can think of when he thinks about the movie. The rest of the movie plot, etc. doesn't matter to him.

Give me a break. You can dislike the movie, sure, but there is no way it is anywhere near that bad. Transformers 2 is one of the worst movies I've seen in a very, very long time and I still would not go so far in denigrating it as you have with Watchmen.

He was cool. Others were kind of either blah or just ghey.
