Watching your RAM

I just ordered additional RAM for my system. I've heard some people in this forum say that
too much or unused RAM will actually slow your system down some.

How can I avoid this? How do you watch how much RAM is being utilized by your system?

I don't see how unused ram would slow down a system.. i usually have 256 megs in win2k, but for a while i had 768 megs of RAm, and it didn't seem any slower to me... if anything some things ran a little faster.
 
Too much system memory is only a factor if you're running Windows 95/98/ME. If you are running one of these operating systems, and your computer has more than 256MB of system memory, I would recommend a memory manager like RamIdle.
 
Win2k will take any amount of ram and still want more, Win95/98/ME gets full after 256mb 🙂
