Sometimes it depends on how well each track is done, but generally (or in theory), DTS is better since it allows for much higher bitrates than Dolby Digital (1500kbps max vs. 640kbps max, I believe).
That's what I thought. I watched "Lord of War" with DTS, than played some parts in DD to try and hear a difference awhile back, I don't think I could tell the difference.
