the the cheaper ones yes...

the more expensive ones will look better in brighter rooms.

or, you can do rear projection, then it doesn't matter.

Even really expensive screens are not going to look great without a dark environment. The darkest black on your screen is only as dark as the screen itself. If your screen looks bright when you're shooting, black is going to be that bright.

If you start with a screen that looks black, then you're going to get a nice image.

It's the only way to watch movies. But watching it hanging it from the ceiling gets tiring after a while.

You can get in-ceiling screens.

no, that's in a bedroom turned TV room.

Coming down from the ceiling is the problem. The image isn't at eye level. I guess there are things you can do, his just isn't set up that way.
