Watched transformers again the other day.

First off, the movie in a major way but I was curious, why do the robots blink? I saw Optimus Prime blink when he was talking to Sam and I'm like why does he do that?

Hrmmm

To make sure the optical sensors are clean and dust free.

But I want to know what happens to the soda machine and the other x-box transformer at the end. They start attacking people then never come back to it to see if they were routed like the others or if they are still on the loose.

to keep their lenses clear, perhaps? They are supposed to be alive, in a sense, just able to transform their shape. Remember seeing them in their normal form? They were very humanoid creatures, although comprised entirely of metal.

That may be a stretch, and it may have just been something to give them a more living creature feel.
Optimus Prime also rubbed the bridge of his nose in frustration when he was talking to Sam outside his window. That moment was kind of cool for that reason.

Outside of that, no clue, and I can't say I even care. 😉

speaking of the xbox, I love how it had the power-on sound. 🙂

I think you can kind of assume the military took care of them. But there are a lot of loose ends as far as other Decepticons, and I hope they revisit all of them in the sequel. I'm thinking they have to, and probably left them hanging with the purpose of having them around again.

Probably to give them life-like features; did you notice that as you were watching the movie, you found yourself emotionally attached to the robots as someone would be to a human.

The same thing that happened to Barricade....they just disappeared. 😉

Say whaaa?? Quote from movie:

Optimus Prime: "We've learned earth's languages through the world wide web."

Side note: Guess I never though about lubricating the optical sensors or w/e. I didn't notice he scratched his 'nose'....will have to check out when I get home.

should be happy to know that there is already a planned trilogy. Was greenlit prior to Transformers hitting theaters, and Bay and team have already begun pre-production on Transformers 2, with the movie set to hit theaters Summer 2009. 🙂

Pretty much. Why else would they be anthropomorphic robots at all? Why else would they have facial expressions?

Why do the object that get power from the cube and transform instantly become bad and start attacking things? Is the cubes power naturally evil or something?
