That is the worst victory speeches I have ever heard. I've never seen anything like it.
Cannot believe this guy won in my state. I'm pretty disgusted with my state today. We sent this guy back to congress for his 16th term.

On behalf of Massachusetts, I'm sorry everyone, really really sorry.

You thanked us for electing Scott Brown, thank you for returning the favor and voting in some better people last night. You succeeded where we failed.

I thought Barney was kind of amusing last night.

BTW, last night proved that Scott Brown didn't "win", it clearly demonstrated that Martha Coakley completely fucked up and threw away that election for Ted K's seat. It was an anti-arrogant Coakley vote last year, not pro-Brown.

The GOP went down handily last night in MA, in all state wide offices and all 10 congressional seats.

Right-wing Partisan is unhappy with the victory speech of a Left-wing Candidate. Color me surprised.

I'm disappointed with MA too. But half the people here are college kids with their head so far up their ass, I'm not surprised at the results.

Huh? I'm not a right-wing partisan. What evidence do you have of that? Because I don't like Barney Frank? Please.

I'm registered independent and voted for my Democratic Rep Steven Lynch, my democrat county commissioner, and my state house rep. I'm no right-wing hack.
You want to see partisans IBMer? Come to Massachusetts, we got plenty of them!

Here's a hint. Don't put up unelectable candidates.

Seriously? You think Sean Bielat was unelectable? Hes a former US Marine and Business owner. He out debated Barney Frank every time. He ran a great campaign. If he wasn't electable on a year of anti-incumbency like this against Barney Frank, then really, who is? You're usually pretty reasonable, but I think you're just wrong on this one. Christine O'Donnell? sure, theres no way in hell I could vote for her. Sharon Angle? Yeah, I would also agree. But not in this case, sorry.

I liked it, I hate the fluffy speeches with no substance.

Well I should have known you would like it senseamp 🙂
Oh well, you need something to cheer you up after last night.

Barney Frank just seemed to come across extremely classless and bitter. If I didn't know better that seemed almost like a concession speech. Like we had the nerve to make him campaign for his seat. How dare we?!? Make him debate and spend money...us peasants.

I can understand some candidates winning, I mean, this is Massachusetts after all. For instance Gov Patrick won, I didn't vote for him. Hes a bigger gov higher taxes kinda guy, I'm not. If you vote for Patrick last night and you truly believe bigger gov and higher taxes are the way to go forward here in MA, fine, I can at least RESPECT that. I cannot respect Barney Frank, scandal after scandal, the utter contempt hes had, the bitterness, the attack adds, his connections with banks and Freddie and Fannie, just everything. I'm not bitter, honestly just embarrassed at what this state has become.

There were a lot of really good candidates that lost because they did not have a D next to their name. We honestly had a lady that cheated on her taxes become our state auditor! 🙄 why you ask? Well because she has a D next to her name! 😉

If I was in a republican controlled state, I would honestly want a democrat as an auditor to keep the state .gov in check, not here in MA, we can't be having that!

I now know that electing Scott Brown was a fluke. I thought this state was waking up and actually voting for the better candidate for once. It did so, but only because the Democrat machine was not fired up early enough, it was on auto-pilot, Martha Coakley had a right to be senator, because she had a D next to her name, don't even bother fireing up the machine for this one.Too little, too late on that one. If Scott Browns election was last night in MA, he would have lost. Its that bad here, it really is. Its kinda scary actually.

Don't ever bother running for any seats here in MA as anything other than a D. You won't win, you can't win. Even California has republican congressional seats. If you want to win anything here in MA, even if you're conservative, you must be a D. If Rand Paul was a D he could get elected here, yes, its that bad.

I'm just embarrassed at the partisanship here in MA, vote D not matter what, at any cost.

Oh well, here in MA we did vote to lower our taxes though! Got rid of our double tax (sales tax) on alcohol. Thats good, cause I'm gonna need it to make it to our next election here in MA. 😀

Once again, thank you the rest of America.

Massachusetts have nothing to celebrate this time around. Frank has been active in weakening this country since he was elected to office the first time, oh so long ago.

Understand that Frank IS one of the major voices of the Dems. What he says is no more than what many other Dems, losers and winners alike, are thinking this morning.

He cannot accept that he is wrong, and so he blames all those who are opposed to him as enemies. This is the traditional Dem viewpoint. It is not progressive, even as it fully represents the "progressive" viewpoint.

Our best hope going forward is to continue to marginalize the extremes that are represented by clowns like Frank.

Frank may not be your cup of tea where you live, but clearly he represents his constituency and votes for his people for them to keep him in such difficult times....

Corrected for you

You don't like it, you are free to leave the state and the country.

So I can't not like anything now Dave? I have to leave if I don't like it? No opinions on anything are allowed? How dare we question anything right?
Yup, you would definitely get along just fine with Barney Frank.

I am so glad the rest of the country had some guts.

You say you 'hate Democrats and Republicans equally', but every post I've seen from you today (which is all I ever remember seeing) has been pro-Republican, anti-Democrat.

I have hated Republicans equally in the past, especially many in congress in 2000-2006. I also hated GWB.

My state is in pretty bad shape, and is full of democrats, its hard to hate on republicans here, and republicans virtually have no power in the federal government as of now. So yes, I am more anti-democrat CURRENTLY, but I have no special allegiance or loyalty towards the republicans and will quickly turn on them if I see them repeat the same shit they have done in the past.

I also kinda like Obama (disagree with him on many things though, I voted 3rd party in 08) and will most likely vote for him in 2012 since we have a republican congress and I don't want a repeat of 2000-2006

So why do you stay there?

There is plenty of Republican states for you to move to especially after this election.

I am not saying that its full of democrats like that is the reason I hate it, just that its in bad shape and they are in power here, so I blame the democrats, not the republicans. If it was the other way around I would blame the republicans just as well.

When I moved here years ago it was in pretty good shape, the economy was much better, taxes were lower, so the fact that democrats ran it did not irk me much. Now that the economy has been hit hard the state has been getting much worse and we have been raising taxes on top of it, making government bigger on top of it. Its really hurting the businesses here and we are losing jobs fast. I am getting fed up with the politicians that run the state. The broken promises and the corruption. I am only here until I finish my degree next summer and will most likely move to NH as soon as possible (as many MA residents are doing).

Now MA has a do nothing Senator and still has a highley effective AG who works hard for her constituents. Just recently she went after Insurance companies that were sticking to those who own Motorcycles by overcharging them and won a big suit which resulted in millions of dollars being refunded to them from those insurance companies. She would have made a much better Senator than Brown has been.

Sorry, OP, I just listened to that entire speech and saw only typical Barney Frank openness and honesty, and, frankly, bitterness and lack of class from you.

However, if you truly want "LACK OF CLASS" among politicians, then Joe Miller, his organization and his entire campaign clearly leads the pack:

At the same time, Robert Campbell, Mr. Miller’s campaign manager said: “We’re pretty confident Senator Murkowski’s going to get some of the write-in votes. It’s also possible Spiderman will get some, too.”

By Wednesday morning, with 99 percent of precincts reporting, the write-in category had 41 percent of the vote, compared with 34 percent for Mr. Miller.
Stay classy, Joe!
