If this is actual retail performance than I can't see anyone talking this up other than if it's dirt cheap. 8 Bobcat cores would be a pretty accurate assessment with these numbers. I could see why they are stressing OC, but it still voids warranty doesn't it even on FX?

Yes. The other worrying thing about overclocking is that BD's power consumption goes up dramatically with overclocking...much more so than any SB processor (check on XS for the source).
 
Even if this is review kit, if they were jokesters they could have installed an old bios on the ASUS Crosshair. Barring that, those non-numerical magazine reviews are starting to look accurate though.
 
Why did AMD delay this POS so long? The sooner it was released, the sooner people would have gotten over the shock. NOw, the delay just aggravated everybody further.

All I was looking for was a quick upgrade to my x4 p2. NOw imma have to switch to intel.

I feel the same way now, I feel duped. Im usually moderate but there was way too much hype for these chips. They should have just released them like you said in the beginning of this year. This coming week will be interesting on this forum.
 
Threads like this are proof that Anand needs to tell us something. I cant believe he hasnt even so much as tweeted anything about BD in the last few days.

This situation is incredibly frustrating, but I think it is because Anand actually has a BD review kit, and thus is under NDA. If you're under NDA, you're not talking. Someone like Anand isn't going to threaten their relationship with hardware vendors just to get some info out to us a few days early, or some page hits.


All (should) be revealed on Wednesday.

God - I sound like I want to AMD to fail, but I want anything but that. Their marketing and 'smoke and mirrors' regarding BD is pissing me off though. If it's a turd, say it's a turd and tell me you are working to improve it. Don't hand me a turd and tell me it's something else...D:
 
Anand could at least pop in and say what he's allowed to say, even if it is just to say he is not allowed to say anything... Does he ever post on these forums?

Last I heard from Anand and JW was that BD was not very exciting and prepare for potential disappointment. That was August/Septemeber though.
