No, I have no thread on it. It was basically the sheriff's fault, it was an escaped prisoner. I'll try to sum it up a little later, right now I'm smoking chickens and I need to keep an eye on that. :D

Yes. I would go, and stand there like this ---> .|.. the whole time he writhed and finally died, with me smiling triumphantly. :)

lethal injection/gas chamber would be boring, i would go if it were electric chair, firing squad, beheading, etc.

You are not obligated, out of respect for anybody, to go.

From the little I've read, people have very strong reactions to seeing the execution of the person who killed someone close to them.

I would suggest you try to find people who have been in your shoes and witnessed executions and ask them their thoughts. I'm sure a resourceful person such as yourself could find such individuals.

Truly I can't say. If it was a stranger Id' not attend. If I did attend in the circumstances you mentioned it would only be out of a spiteful desire for vengenace. Afterall why else would you want to see him die? Again, I'm not saying I wouldn't go and it's understandable to want to see him "get what's coming to him"...I think it would probably not help you, but I just don't know :)

How do you fit them in the pipe?

I'd absolutely be there. No question. In fact, I'd be lobbying to get it done soon as possible.

Someone who kills another while committing a crime should be removed from this earth.

What the fvck? Out of respect for those lost? Respecting someone is going to there funeral and being there with other people that cared about the person. Watching the murderer get fried has nothing to do with respect, and actually IMO disrespects all that are involved.

I don't think I would. A friend of mine died a couple months ago, and during one of her previous episodes (she had lupus), she totally freaked b/c my gf left the doctor's office while she was under anaesthesia, and was alone when she woke up.
She was so freaked because she didn't want to die alone.
So when she died, we were all there by her side. We made sure she didn't go off alone.

So I say let the killer die alone. Why should he have his life validated by people witnessing its end? He should die alone, in darkness, in pain.

I'm not sure I would go. I think I would want to, but doesn't attending sort of glorify his death? All those people there watching him go? He should die alone.
