the e-mail looks like a page ebay would have, although it'd only fool small children, the elderly, and AOLers

its a change from the norm as normally its "update your information with your ssn blah blah..."

i used to think nobody falls for these but apparently soembody out there does, otherwise they wouldn't keep spamming us with them. my dad a few weeks ago forwarded me the paypal scam e-mail asking me if i had a paypal account (implying he woulda fell for it if he had his own account)

and he's been in the IT business for..... over 25 YEARS!!

why dont you let eGay warn its own losers about its own scams?

you dont see posts on eGay warning AT members about trolls and such.

I always believe what I get in email, because it's in writing, and they HAVE to tell the truth then, cuz...you know. I have it in writing.

As I've said before, this is something that some Hot Deals regulars will find useful. Stop threadcrapping.

I hope that no one here actually needs this post. 🙂

Naw, I was thinking more for relates of AT regulars. Actually, like Rei's dad apparantly. 😛 Sure, most ATers are smarter than this, but that doesn't mean their relatives are. 😉

I got one from "eBay Secuirty Commission".......yes they did mispell security.

Instructions were to log-in to verify account status.
It was in HTML format and had two fields to enter userID and password.
