With Kmart being acquired by Sears, their changes have started to begin. Watch out as Kmart will be renamed to Sears Essentials. For this event, most of the store will be clearenced off.....I was at the Kmart in Tewksbury, MA yesterday and everything was atleast 30% off. I wanted to buy a PS2, but they were out. Watch out for you local Kmart's change. I am waiting for the somerville kmart to change so i can get a new vaccum.

Here is a list of teh first 25 conversions..... http://www.searsmedia.com/aboutsears/businesses/essentials_locations.pdf

everything except essentials like shampoo.

They had a gamecube for 30% off, but I already have one. That said, the Tewksbury store is bare now.

When are the stores undergoing the 30% clearance? Are they typically doing it a couple weeks before or months ahead of the switch?

i went to my local st.pete kmart, they have a last day 90% off on some items. Those are really some small items not the whole store has the clearance. Moreover there was no electronics items or section whatsoever.

🙁 Looks like I'm going to have to starting going to Walmart for quick games or pay the extra $5 at blockbuster 🙁

The link by the OP lists one "sears essentials" in my state but we have a lot more Kmarts than that. What is happening to the other stores? Are they closing them down or are they staying KMARTS?

Thanks

OP said FIRST 25 conversions. They'll do so many at a time. I would not be surprised to see some closed as well, but it will take some time to get all of the stores converted.

I was at the kmart in SD on clairemont mesa like some 2 weeks ago and they had a lot of games on clearance. I think they had some 3 mp olympus digicams for about $110, the ones with 3x optical zoom. Dont remember the exact model number, but I was there with my friend and she was able to get karoake revolution 2 for $24 dollars.

I thought K-Mart bought Sears and not the other way around.

You are correct...Kmart bought Sears for around $12 billion if memory serves.

Yea and they are using the sears name, the sears headquarters and the sears staff. It's what they call a pretend purchase.

I went to the Kmart in Marlton, NJ yesterday and they had a decent selection of clearence items. Most of the store was 20% off, some things were up to 30%. The jewlery was 70% off but the selection was pretty poor. The best deals I think were the DVD box sets, because the price on them doesn't vary too much from store to store and they were 20% off. I didn't get anything though, waiting for it to drop way down and then I'll do the bargain hunting for some cheap dormroom kitchen supplies 😛

When K Mart earlier closed so many stores their closouts were a joke because they first raised the prices above normal and then took the deductions, and seemed to have shipped anything good to elsewhere.
