CONGRATS! 🙂 Looks awesome! Master bedroom seems a little for my taste though 🙂 I like it very big, even if it means sacrificing other rooms or moving it on to another floor 🙂

No, my wife works and I go to school. PC Link is side income, but eventually could grow into a bigger business.

I like! Enjoy your new home in August, wyvrn. 3100 sf... you bastage....you've got 1100 more sf of good livin' than me. 😀

Can I make a suggestion?

It looks like it's not too late to make this change: Put a built-in cook-top on the island, and a built-in wall oven over near where the slide in unit is on the floor plan. Much nicer IMHO. 🙂

Agree. But most of the home builders don't have designs like this. Almost all have been master down, bedrooms up. One was master up, but the staircase was facing the door and my wife didn't like it (fung schue thing).

Fung schue? You mean feng shui? You know that's BS right? You did say it was your wife at least...does she realize it's BS?

I think it was in a "Penn and Teller Bullsh*t!" episode that they had 3 feng shui designers redo the same room, not knowing the others were doing it as well. It was obvious the basis of whole concept is nonsense, especially when one designer said a certain placement was absolutely wrong and the other said it was good. Oops.

i would sacrifice the master bedroom downstairs and replace it with a half court basketball court 😎

That big nice house for only $210K?! woow. I just bought a 2-bdrm townhouse in north NJ for $305K. What is this world coming to.

Cable and telephone comes prewired by default. I had them prewire for 5.1 system in the media room. They charge too much for the networking cable and will not allow us to install our own because they say subsequent inspections delay the building process, so I am just going to go wireless. I am building and installing an HTPC and going to use 802.11G to hopefully stream DVD video to the downstairs livingroom. We'll see how it goes.

I agree, however we are going to do it later. They charge to much to move/change things around. We are also doing our own tile backsplash in the kitchen, and ripping out the carpet in the living areas to install wood and tile. This is going to save us a lot of money in the long run. And lastly we had them drop a gas line to the back patio so we can build a cabinet and install a gas grill. fun fun 🙂

Nice!!

My family recently bought a house and we go every two weeks or so to watch its progress. Right now the frame is built up and they are putting on the roof.

Have you noticed the house looks much smaller than the floorplan suggests? Granted the walls weren't in when we saw, just the beams.

Our house looks to be in this state: pic

We walked inside and all and it looks kinda small compared to the floor plan. Did you send your builder dimensions for your kitchen appliances and all so they can create appropraite spaces in the cabinets?

We got to look at two different model homes of our model, so we got a good idea of what the inside looked like. It's really more room than we need but our family will grow into it.

We are keeping the appliances that come with the house standard. We are going to move/replace them later. I am not sure what we will do with the old ones, probably sell them locally. This is still cheaper than having the builder do it though 🙂

oh. They didn't have a model home of our particular house. But we saw another house with similar square footage. And honestly, they look a whole lot smaller compared to the floor plan.

You know what scares me? When we went to visit our house the first time when the frame was up, we found bottles of beer inside that was probably left by the workers. They left it IN the house by the wall. I took a pic of it....I hope the workers focus on the construction itself instead of goofing around.

Ok added another page of pictures finally. Looks like the house will be completed in late July, and we move in early-August!!
