Cinema Now has online movies. You must register first (email, username, password, Year of birth) then you can watch about 175 movies for free. There are 2 or 3 commercials/trailers preceeding them. The streaming performance is excellent and you can choose up to a 700k bitrate.

The free section has a limited selection of about 35 movies. To find the rest go to the "all features" section and look for anything listed as "free".

Some independents and shorts, as well lots of other stuff such as Leprechaun, a bunch of Mr. Bill, Ali - the documentary, Spalding Gray, Capone.

If you are into films, you can't beat this since it's free, good quality and they don't want a bunch of personal info.

This might be off topic, but has anyone tried to get a new account at Blockbuster lately? They wanted WAY too much information from me, like a credit card statement and a paycheck stub. I can understand that they want a drivers license, but why do they need that much info? Needless to say, I don't have a membership at my local Blockbuster. Has anyone else experienced this, or is it just my local store? Thanks!

They wanted my parents' phone #. I told him no. Then he asked for it again. I said look what good would it do, they live hundreds of miles away and for god's sake I'm 24. Gave it to me finally, but actually haven't used it since that day since it was about $5 a pop to rent. Local store has a much better selection including old/harder to find movies for about half the price. Blockbuster = sux.
