I'm pretty fed up with TV. I could get basic cable for $15 in 2000. With inflation, it should be under $30. WTF is going on here?

Where I live, I'd need a roof mounted antenna for local channels. I could live on that alone but I don't want a roof mounted antenna.

I'm soooo ready to sign up for Sling TV, but they don't have Chromecast support. I've not read any mention that it may be coming sometime in the future, either... I don't really want to buy an Amazon Fire stick just yet.

Watched some college basketball yesterday and it started out okay but after about an hour it turned to crap. Stream was buffering about every other minute, sometimes 'stalled' and just gave me a black screen. It's probably because they just opened up registration so everyone was testing, but still if I were a paying customer I would have been really pissed. I'm cancelling my trial tomorrow, though probably will pay for a month in March. Hopefully they will get all the bugs fixed by then (and a Fire TV client would be nice).

Roku 3 is probably your best bet.

What do you mean? Watch Espn app or something different? The reason I ask is because Watch Espn you still can't watch Sports center. And it's been out for months now....

This thread is about the Sling TV, so that's what he was talking about. And yes, I had one more night of testing from my trial, and got to experience it last night on my Fire TV. It was pretty amazing. Quick and smooth, felt like navigating an actual cable box.

dude its advertised as a live TV stream, hence the lack of back catalog and DVR functionality

Its tempting, it would get me soccer and college basketball, and MNF

hell for another 5 I can get BeIN HD which gets me TONS of overseas soccer I cant get without giving DirecTV another like 30 a month

Except that nobody wants live TV except sports people. And if by MNF you mean Monday Night Football, I'd double check that.

Why wouldn't it have MNF?

Their site says you also have on-demand shows. You should be able to pause/resume or fast-forward/rewind that.

Well, I don't know if you somehow forget but the title of this thread is 'Watch ESPN online....", so yes, absolutely it's for sports people. Not sure what you're arguing about. And it's the regular ESPN channel, so yes it will show MNF.

Replying the post above me: It doesn't have on-demand service for ESPN, at least not now.
