I'll throw in $15 dollars because I approve of the concept alone (fan funded games). The fact that its Wasteland, a series I never played but always felt a connection to thanks to my love of Fallout, is just the icing on the top.

I don't expect something with the production values of Mass Effect 3 or anything, but if they can do a decent update on the isometric engine and remain true to the old school RPGs we all love then I'll be sold on this whole kickstarter concept.

I don't think it would have mattered if they did. Their video is kind of a parody, but also probably fairly close to reality as well.

You didn't really donate. You just prepaid for it. Only difference from normal is instead of the prepay money going to whatever publisher/distributor you ordered it from it goes directly to the developers to fund their game how they want to.

Apparently one of the 10K's was from the head of razer which is pretty cool, I'm in for at least 15$ since I loved FO1 and 2 and I miss the turn based combat, I thought it was awesome.

things i am thinking about:

1) describing how revolutionary Wasteland was

2) how awesome the story and setting was (and what it influenced)

3) ranger's HQ, the wasteland ring, and my own promoting the game as an all time great

but i will skip all this and point you to the forum, note the sections "what do you WANT in wasteland" and "what do you NOT want in wasteland"

Kind of makes me wonder how much it actually takes to make a game like this. If in only a few days they have racked up 600K. I figure that is only the tip of the iceberg, but at least it gives a real feeling that people are behind the thing.

Count me in for $50. Wasteland was epic. I remember not being able to wait to get home so I could run across the street and play it on my friend's Apple 2+(?). If it's anything like the original or FO1/2 I'll be stoked.

It's at $854,000 of 900K before the end of day two so it's definitely a go.

Mac gaming fans also have a good chance of seeing a native OS X version, which will happen if they reach $1.5 million.

i can see why people would give them more money. Wasteland was just so much above anything else.

name another RPg where you could actually split the party, and have different characters on different maps.

Obviously it will slow down a lot, but even 10k a day will push them to around 1.5M.

Gotta say we are seeing great times. Wasteland 2 finally becoming a Reality. BG: Enhanced (1 and 2) coming out in the summer. X-Com actually getting a Turn based tactical sequel. Some of the top games of all times are getting a boost.
