"You can always eBay it"?

I dunno man, not sure what to tell you, except maybe "sorry for your loss."

For what he likely paid for it he could have gotten another, much better card.

How much did you pay?

paid $110 shipped, was on a budget but should have waited

it happens, try to sell it for ~80-90 ish

and then invest in a 9800 pro :)

It's not for me, I already have a 9800 Pro, it's for my dad. For him it's not bad but it's my money, late fathers day gift sort of thing. The 4 pipelines still make me cry. I always like to buy the best.

Try not to worry too much...I've been working with a 9500pro here for over a year or so. And before that was the TNT2 Ultra. Yes, I too loved that card.

sadly the 9500pro is better than the 9600pro, you're not helping

You will forever regret buying computer parts. Simple fact of life. Buy it and a week later, you could have gotten it cheaper/better. I regret buying that NEC 8X DVD burner for $90 a couple months ago, when I could have gotten a DL for the same price now. But oh well...

9600 pro should be decent for Dad. Is he a FPS fan?

he doesn't do anything but go online however I'll probably be on his system more than he is tweaking and playing with it so I want it to be decent enough for me to use. I just paid $65 for a used 4X DVD burner, I'm almost over that mistake.

I paid $150 for my 9600 pro w/ 256MB DDR a few months ago. It's nicer than my old Geforce 2 so I'm happy. I don't game much really, I just wanted a DVI port for my Dell 1800fp. :D

Don't feel bad. I am still using a 4+ years old computer (Pent III 700Mhz with a TNT2 Ultra 32MB RAM). It is still working fine so I will use it for another year or two.
