no...i'm complaining about it or singling out 1 episode or show. I just thought that it was deemed racist and if in fact it was racist, why were TV shows using it? just a curiosity thing - no panties in wad, like some of yours are after I asked a simple question.
spidey
It's not being racist due to the fact of how its being used.
They are not doing the whole "Sambo" thing as previously pointed out. THAT was the "racist" portion of the Blackface used in vaudeville.
ok, i was under the impression that a white person painting themselves black to look like a black person was racist as well.
Uh, do you know what a joke is?
Is a black person painting themselves white racist? Ala: White Chicks and The Chappelle Show?
Seriously. OP, you fail basic comedy literacy.

love that sketch! 😀
also, while googling, i saw the image of Ted Danson in black face. you guys remember that? he was married to Whoopie at the time, and they both came out on stage, he in blackface. It created a big stink for a long time, from the usual characters, of course: (Jackson, Sharpton...). Whoopie was "what the fuck is wrong with you people?"
It's not as quite as easy as that though. In the Vaudeville days, the blackface and the "act" was just a "joke" too wasn't it?
The whole point of the episode of "it's always sunny in philadelphia" was whether or not it was appropriate to use blackface, or whether it is always racist. How could you miss this? Not to mention EVERYTHING in that show is controversial and as nonpolitically correct as you can get. You're a moron.
