Washington: Worst sports teams?

JEDI

Lifer
redskins
bullets..er.. I mean wizards
capitals
Nationals

still shocked the Redskins w/its horrible record under Dan Synder is still the 2nd most valuable nfl team

the bullets was an awesome name. it's retarded they changed it and it will be retarded if they change the redskins for this PC bullshit too.

i remember when they were changing the bullets name they had contests for people to submit names they wanted. my friends and i submitted washington monuments. when we saw "wizards" won we were like wtf? it's a childish ass name. monuments is related to dc and it's a towering, phalic object. very dominating in nature! and it sounds good.

The Caps have been pretty good at times, even though they have never won a stanley cup.

The skins have been terrible since what, 1992?

I hate having to defend the Redskins as I have always hated them despite living my entire life in Northern Virginia but despite how badly they suck now they do have 3 Superbowl wins out of 5 appearances which puts them in the list of top 10 teams to make it there, the Caps generally are contenders, the Bullets did win 1 NBA championship, and the Nats have the makings of a very good baseball team. The city sucks overall as a sports city mainly because the fan base mostly comes from elsewhere and tend to only be loyal to the home teams when they win, otherwise they generally spew out some form of "I come from XXX" and root for the whatever hometown teams they have there. The Redskins are actually the one exception to that rule as they have a pretty loyal fan base regardless of how badly they have sucked over the last 20 years since Gibbs retired.

MN sports teams are terrible.

Wolves
Wild
Vikings
Twins

Twins have lost near 100 games for 3 straight years. Vikings are on pace to win 3 games at best this year and held a QB tryout mid season. Wolves have sucked for a decade and at times barely getting double digit wins. The Wild sucked last year and will probably suck again this year.

One more thing the Vikings havent been to a Superbowl in 36 years. I have never seen a vikings superbowl in my life.

I'll take living in a great area and having shitty sports teams over living in a shitty area and having great sports teams.

Probably Buffalo.

NHL: Never won a Stanley cup.

NFL: Never won a Superbowl. Sure, they were good for 4 consecutive years. And, they *should* have won a superbowl, but Levy was a horrible coach compared to Parcells when the Bills played the Giants. The Bills had 9 pro-bowlers on that team, vs. 3 for the Giants. Statistically, the Bills should have crushed the Giants. Heck, for 4 years in a row, the Bills were the team most loaded with talent in the NFL. Mickey Mouse could have coached them into the Superbowl. A good coach would have won.

Then NBA: Buffalo Braves. Sucked. New owner & team moved to Cali.

2 of those years they went up against the near entire HOF team of the Cowboys. One the best running backs in the history of the NFL with one of the best O Lines in the NFL and a HOF QB / receiver combo. And one of those with one of the best DBs in the history of the NFL.

They should have beat the Redskins or the Giants though, because fuck them! The NFC East is Buffalo's krytonite.

Cleveland, and it's not really close.

Though they don't have hockey, if that's your thing.

the person who owns the Indians designed the team to be profitable for him.
low payroll plus the excess taxes for going over the cap (ie: Yankees and Red sox) going to him and other low payroll teams= millions in risk free profit every year. he rather have that vs the ring.

and tickets for an Indians game is cheap = good for the fans

hm.. or was this the Brewers?
