Jon Stewart would be a terrible president and has entertained a lot of somewhat dubious ideas over the years.

I'll take somewhat dubious ideas and entertainment over MAGA anyday of the week!

Let's face facts.. we're not gonna pull a rabbit out of a hat and create another Obama beloved & clean politician!

The Democratic party is archaic and moving in the wrong direction and this is the icing on the cake for that.

After I vote in our gubernatorial primary, which I will be involved in to help elect the best candidate, I am switching from Dem to Independent. If the archaic party aparatus and the limousine neoliberals want to move even more to the right, that party is no longer worth it.

Hmmm, young inspiring and upward moving congresswoman with a huge social media following that really engages people and is also known for embarrassing Trumpers in hearings or let's do a 74 year old with a terrible cancer.
I'm probably done with the Democratic party too. In the off chance there is a meaningful national election in 2026 or 2028 I'm only likely voting in primaries and if we don't get at least center left candidates I'm not voting for anyone in the general. For example, I refuse to ever cast another vote for Henry Cuellar. If ghouls like Pelosi and Clyburn keep pushing him across the finish line in the primary I'd rather sacrifice the seat and let him lose in the general. Let the Democrats get landslided after taking the left for granted and continually making these rightward turns that don't even win them elections anyways. I'm not ever voting for another Democrat as the lesser of two evils. It's FDR style candidates or bust for me going forward with this piece of shit party.

I think the current bar is somewhere under 'somewhat dubious ideas'. I'd take him over what's incoming.

I think Obama fucked the Dems in so many ways.. they will not comprehend it for generations.

He was willing to jump through hoops for the media.. so now the default is the dems must always do that while MAGA get a free hand.

Media turning a blind eye to selling out America vs Tan Suit and they think Tan Suit is worse!

This was a good move by the Dems. AOC is shit stupid and shouldn't be allowed anywhere near anything important.
What do you base that on? If she is stupid what does that make the likes of Trump, MTG, Gaetz, Tuberville, Hobert, etc??

At least they know how to count.

The thing is people tend to want outsiders in Washington who bring a breath of fresh air. Biden is the lone exception in almost 30 years.

Just being Congresswoman or Senator will make her lose if she goes for POTUS.

That said I think Jon Stewart is the only one who has a prayer of winning as a dem.
There are plenty of Senators that have been President. IE Obama. House members usually, move to the Senate first.

McCain, Romney, and Edwards to name a few were Senators. Palin was a Governor, Bush was a Governor as was Clinton. Waltz, Kain, and Clinton were all Senators.

What is the criteria in your opinion for one to successfully become POTUS? Actor (Reagan) Crappy businessman (Trump)? This is as far as top of my head goes. I remember Carter but prior is childhood memories.
