I like to use the washbasins that have their own little walls and doors... I just wish the water weren't always so cold in them!

Unless I get some on my hands I don't wash them. What's the point? I point the little guy at the urinal. He's kept in my pants all day and doesn't touch anything. If anything, it's a disservice to not wash my hands before touching the third leg. My hands probably have a bunch more crap on them than he does.

Yep!
And, here's a weird factoid for you:
While men's restrooms often smell worse, studies have shown that women's restrooms have more fecal material in the sink areas.

I wet them first. Seems like the soap works better if there's a little water on your hands.

Ditto.

1. Wet
2. Soap
3. Rinse
4. Turn off faucet with wrist
5. Get paper towel
6. Use same towel for opening door to get out.
7. Be like MJ and try to get the towel in the trashcan.

I get the towels ready, put water on my hands, then soap, and then I wash and say my ABC's to myself. I just make sure that I get under my nails too. A lot of germs live under them.

1. get paper towel (or pre-dispense it if it's a dispenser)
2. turn on faucet
3. get soap
4. wash
5. get paper towel
6. turn off faucet w/ paper towel
7. use paper towel to get more paper towels out of dispenser
8. wipe hand
9. open door with paper towel
10. while door is open throw pt in trash if next to door, else throw it on the ground in the bathroom

This way after you've washed your hands you never have to come in contact w/ anything in the public bathroom. Do you see how many people walk out without even rinsing their hands! : puke;

Exactly what I do

Where is the option for "I don't use soap". Edit: Thats better.

Unless I pee on myself, was doing a #2 or my hands were otherwise dirty I don't usually bother with the soap. I don't consider myself dirty. Other people though...I consider them dirty. Sometimes I will wash my hands after shaking hands with some one I think is unsanitary.

If my hands were dirty for some reason, I will often wash them BEFORE I pee...but only do the splash of water thing afterwards. I don't want to transfer germs from my hands to my wang you know.

Yes, I know I am insane. But I hardly ever get sick!

I've been curious after observing people's hand washing habits. Do you put the soap on your hands after you wet them (with water), or before? And why?

Wet before the soap, lathers better that way and seems the sensible thing to do. May I ask why you're curious? Doing a thesis on the subject?

You don't ever get curious about what people do differently and why?
