I have a front load pair... too lazy to go see which model. I got both (the washer and dryer) from Sears, for 50% off. Then I went back and bought the pedestals to sit them on.

The main reason that I like front load, and why I have no intention of ever returning to top load, is it's a lot easier on my back to unload clothes from the front. When I was using a top load washer, I'd throw my back out of line probably 3-4 times per year... haven't a single time since getting the front loader.

I also echo the "leave the door open!" sentiment. I leave it open whenever it's not running, and I've never experienced a mold/mildew smell. It does take longer to wash a load in the front loader vs top, but that's really the only drawback I've seen.

I've not noticed any longer time to wash in a front loader but because of the high speed spins, I have noticed that my drying time has decreased by about 20 minutes or so.

IF you have a front loader, be sure to leave the door open after you're done using it or it can get moldy. There's tons of complaints on that online and a number of people i know have had this issue.

I also leave the slide tray for the detergent open for a few days as well after my laundry day is done

Aren't those just expensive as a front loader?

When we were looking, they were in between a regular top loader and front loader. Front loader prices have fallen (or at least you can get great specials now). Not sure if the agitator-less models (top loaders) have fallen or not. Since they don't seem as popular (lower sales numbers), I would think not.

No, because everyone is on the front loader deal.

I gained more capacity and more features at a lower price point.

I was shopping based on only two adults. I am sure if you are looking at 6 cu ft washer loads the front loader may make more sense. I was shopping just so I can wash a king sized comforter at times.

With pedestals I assume.
