Do I need to use the little insulating washers when I
mount my mobo on the stands ?
Top , bottom or both ?
The mobo instructions book don't mention using them...............Rick

Most new case installation kits don't consider them necessary - however - they can't hurt and if I have them - I use them

I would install it because there are the freaky incidents where the computer won't boot without the things cuz something was being shorted so yeah, use 'em. :D

If it's one of those old Pentium/AMD k6 mobo...I'll use them. On new current generation of mobo, I don't. It seems tht these new mobo had a better insulation around the screw hole.

I've been fne all these while (thank god). :)

old = use washers, new = who cares.

I haven't used the red washers in a freaking long time.. and never had a single issue regarding that.

The metalized ring surrounding the mounting hole on modern mobos is connected to the ground plain, it is meant to be grounded so the red washers are unnecessary. If you find that a screw head extendes beyond the metalized ring and threatens to contact the circitry then it cannot hurt to use them. They should not be necessary.

Thanks for the info....

the screws on top look safe
now
I have the metal square push thru type stands
they point up a little where the screws go in
so they dont touch any mobo connections right ?
but it does "look" close..................Rick
