Finally got the full Termi system on my Ducati Monster 1200S. It sounds amazing, it's not so much louder (I still have the noise plug/DB Killer in) it feels like I've unlocked the bass that I remember hearing in the older Ducatis (like the 996).

I'm going to the dealer today so they can unlock the engine map for this system and it'll run even better.

My first impressions are first that it sounds positively Ducati and I love it. Performance wise, there used to be no point in revving past 8,000 RPMs on this bike as the power would taper off past that. Now with the new system, it pulls very hard until fuel cutoff. I did lose some torque from 1500-3500RPM but I had more than enough to spare... But for the fun I have now past 3500RPMs it's totally worth it now :D The bike was clearly "choked" in the name of mid range torque (Ducati put smaller throttle bodies and the headers were a good 7mm smaller in diameter than the new ones from Termignoni)

UPDATED:

Here's a better vid post ECU Remap, one is without the DB Killers (so completely open) and one is with them on

Bike looks great! Can't listen to the vid here though, I'll check it out later.

Does that exhaust have a db killer installed? Does it retain the catalyst or is this one of those "For Off-Road Use Only" exhausts?

Thanks!

Yeah the DB Killers are currently installed, sounds loud enough to me.

The catalysts are gone, so yeah it's for off road use only. Termi does offer a homolgated exhaust that does retain the cat in it.

CA is starting to crack down on illegal exhausts on motorcycles. Any bike manufactured after Jan 1, 2013 must have a DOT number on the exhaust. Since mine is a 2012 I'm fine... which gives me even more incentive to keep it.

It is a secondary offense though, they can't pull you over just for a loud exhaust.

I have aftermarket DB killers installed on my bike. They are made by desmoworld in Germany, milled out of a single piece of billet. The tube is shorter than the Termi DB killers and greater diameter. I think the Termi DB killers for my bike kill too many DBs but open it is too loud and pops on deceleration. These sound just right. Loud enough but not too loud.

Updated it with a better vid post remap. Bike flies off a lot better now, low-end torque did get sacrificed, but it's completely worth it. Note in the video, during start up the dashboard shows "Racing EVO" indicating the racing ECU Map is enabled.

Colorado as a state doesn't really have a law like that restricting Motorcycle exhausts. However the city and county of Denver (Which I don't live in but commute through) does. But I've been pulled over for speeding twice already and they don't even look at the exhaust.

Check out the new vid when you get home, I uploaded a better one showing the difference between having the DB Killers and not.

Honestly, your bike doesn't sound much different than my bike... which is to say it sounds great.:D
