Seems like a good deal for a basic guitar. Anyone have any reviews/comments?

$99.99+$8.95 shipping for me.

Washburn D100

I already own a Ovation Elite Standard, Gibson 12-String, and several other high end guitars, I am just wanting one I can feel safe traveling with. Im stuck between this and the low end Takamini.

this thing was selling for $199 just a week ago...

but I have to say it doesn't mention anywhere that it has a solid top... just says spruce top... and for $200, you should expect a solid top. In fact, you can get an acoustic guitar w/ solid top for under $150...
that's not to say that a laminated top guitar wouldn't sound as good or better than some solid top guitars, but those are likely rare cases...

When I asked about the quality of that one, people brought up several
better deals. Apparently the "list" price isn't as meaningful as you would
think. There is a less discounted Washburn that is rated higher as are
several other brands in that price range.

speaking of an amzing deal... check out the Jasmine S-35 acoustic guitar... you can get them on ebay for around $50-$75... and I guarantee you will not find a better sounding acoustic for the money. I have been selling/playing guitars for over 8 years now and I was absolutely floored by the sound! Even competes with the sound of the higher end solid top acoustics like Taylor.

Winchester -- read the thread. In particular, read my post dated nearly a month ago. I found
the acoustic one and posted about it.

Leonc, that "thread" was about the Washburn X20, no matter what you mentioned within your posts. This thread is about the Washburn D100

That depends. It doesn't have a solid top which makes a huge difference in sound. Then again, I haven't played any Washburn acoustic (ones costing 5x or more) that really has a great sound, but for the money it is good.

A better alternative is the Washburn D10S which does have a solid top.

For a beater/campfire/beach/smashing onstage type guitar, the D100 is perfectly fine.
