WASD or arrow keys?

WSAD fo sho
back in my Q3 days i used to use EDSF as i needed all the surrounding keys for my mindboggling array of binds

WASD

That way you can get easily to your reload (R), use (E), last weapon (Q), lean (Z, X), crouch (Ctrl), jump (Space), and your number keys (1-0) for your weapons

No other way! 🙂

Confused

Arrow keys:
ctrl = crouch
shift = jump
"menu" key and ins = lean
delete/pgdn/end for relead etc
enter for use
mouse buttons/wheel for weapons 😛

EDIT: and you still have 1/4 on the numpad free, and backspace and [/?] and [#~] and [@'], assuming you have long enough fingers.
And if you're really speed with your hands, you can still get to the number keys 😛

people using arrow keys look uncomfortable.

like with their keyboard sticking out of their desk and their two hands all close together.
WSAD is far more comfy as your hands naturally sit on the keys that way (at least they do now 😛)

WASD all the way! Man I felt stupid when I discovered WASD (some five years ago) -- I couldn't believe I used the arrow keys all that time.

Well you're not alone. That's pretty much the setup I go with for most FPS games. The default setup for Tomb Raider used the arrow keys and those surrounding it - minus the mouse of course. I got used to this after playing the first one, so I tried it on the FPS games by first remapping Half-Life and stuck with that ever since on every game.

ESDF here.
A = reload
R = lean right
W = lean left
Space = secondary fire
mouse2 = jump
shift = crouch
z = walk
Q = radio
etc etc.

Not if you game with a laptop! WASD all the way! 😀

Try this one 🙂

FPS:

LFTMouse = fire
RtMouse = forward
mouse button = alt fire
z = strf left
x = strf right
ctrl = backward
shift = walk/run toggle
space = jump
alt = quick weapon change
c = crouch

^above comment is a joke 😛

ESDF. I prefer it over WASD, because I can use Q, A, & Z with minimal difficulty..more buttons easily reachable, I guess.

Edit: Whoa...had no idea that so many other people used that! 😀
