I woke up earlier than usual this morning trying to get a head start on the traffic because I ride my bike to work. I usually get there at 8:30 or 8:45, but I wanted to leave my house at 7:45 this morning and get there by 8:00.
My wife called me at 7:30 and said someone just backed up into her car at the stop sign on the other side of our condo unit. Great. I walked over to see what was going on and to make sure the woman who hit my wife wasn't claiming my wife actually rear ended her. She was honest about it which really made the situation a lot better, but I still felt bad for her after the cop said the ticket for causing an accident here is $1000. Ouch.
I didn't have my camera and my wife was in a hurry to get to work as she is a 1st grade teacher, but I'll get some pics later. The hood is smashed right in the middle since it was a county work truck with a hitch several feet off the ground. The grill is broken in several places and the hood was shoved back into the windshield. It's a 2007 Honda Pilot which we bought in May. We love that car and the fact that it's so new stung a little, but oh well.
After all of that drama, I walked home and got ready to leave, but I realized I didn't have my badge. I looked everywhere in the house I could possibly think of, including the washer and dryer, in/under the couch, the dirty clothes, all of my jackets, the trash, under the bed, both bathrooms, and everywhere in the computer room. Nothing.
I ended up leaving my house at 9:15 and I had to get a temporary badge from the front desk. That isn't so bad, but it's going to be annoying tomorrow when I can't find my badge again and I need to get a new one. Finally, I got to my desk and decided I wanted some crackers from the vending machine, but it wouldn't take the only dollar I had in my wallet.
