hey guys when i had the gtx 260 i remember that i would have to go into the driver folder and do a small change to the driver in where i would change my EDID values so tht i am able to get clear picture instead of the fuzzy washed out picutre. i was wondering do the gtx 500 series do the samething or has that been fixed? since i am looking to get a gtx 560 in a few hrs

I hope you are not getting a gtx560 because you want better performance. a stock gtx560 is only about 12% faster than a stock 5850.

He sold his 5850, I remember this guy.

Edit: yes he is going to buy a gtx560 SOC, the 1000 core version, I believe. That should be a good 35% faster.

I don't have this issue and never heard of it and I also had a gtx260 a while back.

well at 1000 core it would probably realistically end around about 30% faster if his 5850 was completely stock.

and yeah I have never heard of this issue either.

A certain Westinghouse monitor has this problem I believe. Its timings are set borked by some version of Windows, its seen as a TV I believe.

It seems to be a monitor problem and it affects both vendors. Once the EDID is edited, the problem goes away, for both vendors. So if you have done this once when you are using Nvidia video card, swapping it with a AMD card won't break it. Vice versa.

i downloaded the file from that site and im reading it but im not sure where or how im suppose to start. with the nvidia drivers i would go into the program file and add the override in the nvidia folder
