Actually he doesn't die from falling into the "sarlacc pit." He manages to crawl out alive in one of the books. But humorous moment nonetheless.

Nah, the stormtrooper who hits his head on the door (when they brek into to room C3PO and R2D2 are hiding in Ep4) is funny.

Yeah, it seems really inconsistent that, from the Star Wars books, Boba Fett escapes much greater peril earlier in life only to get killed by a blind man accidently hitting his rocket pack. Doesn't speak well for Boba Fett.

Actually, I think the funniest part of Ep4 is when Luke says, in an extremely whiny voice, "But I was going to the Toshi Station to pick up some power converters!"

bwahahah. That got a big laugh from the audience during the Special Edition screenings.

LOL I just noticed that one too. But I think the funniest is the light saber fight between Obi Wan and Vader. Obi Wan kind of just pokes and lunges the light saber at vader.

Yeah, the light saber fights in the first 3 were pretty pathetic. In ROTJ, Luke basically swung like a madman at Vader, who fell down slowly in an obviously scripted move :p

I was surprised he didn't use his jetpack to get out of trouble. I thought he died too easily for
such a great bounty hunter, this was before some book later resurrected him.

I really wish that Lucas had left the rest of the movie alone, and jsut redid the lightsaber fight between obi-wan and vader for the special edition.

It's his jetpack that screwed him - Solo swung and inadvertently hit the jetpack which malfunctioned and sent fett flying (and he's as good as dead, nothing but food bits stuck in sarlacc teeth).

and Obi-wan patented the "Obi One Move of Doom" in that first duel.

Yes, he will be digested for a thousand years, as I remember Jabba saying. However, nobody stops him from taking a little pause from being digested, here and there

No way. Ok, Obi Wan sucked, but he was an old man. But ROTJ is good, and Empire is even better. I enjoy the new stuff on some level because it is technically dazzling, but in Empire, you can actually follow what's going on. When Luke and Vader are fighting out in the air shaft in Bespin, that's the coolest fight scene of all the movies. It actually looks like they're fighting rather than doing ballet with light sabers.

I thought the luke/vader saber duels in ESB and RotJ were pretty good. Obiwan was a little weak though.
