Today i was walking home from the mall and was waiting for the light to change, when it did i was about to cross the street and a BMW X5 was coming up in the closest lane(coming to a red light, as it was green in the direction i was going and the walk signal said walk) And it stoped and i saw the driver start looking in the other direction to see the coming traffic and see when he could turn, then while i was still walking infront of him he starts moving without even looking, he hit me but not hard enugh to knock me over, i screamed at him and he started to take off, then i kicked his driver side door with a full powered side kick catching it dead center with my steel toed CAT work boot, left a pretty big dent(had alot of weight behind it, i weigh in at 210lbs) Looks like he will need some pretty nice body work to get it bent back and the door touched up as the paint was a little messed up. So was that the right thing to do? BTW i was with my GF and she would have got run over worse than me, thats mainly why i flipped. So what do you think?

no!
u should have gotten his liscence plate

let me make sure i understand though - u were crossing legally - i personally hate stuipd jay walkers that take there time crossing the road (its ok to jay walk as long as u dont cauze problems for drivers!)

i scream at asshole drivers that nearly run me over on what seems to be a regular occurrence...just this friday night a college owned vehicle (some sorta maintence vehicle) nearly ran me over ON CAMPUS grrrr...

good job kicking that rich punks car in; i hope it costs him a pretty penny!

Fvcking eh!!!! Yes it was the right thing to do AND you should have gotten his license plate. He did a hit and run. Could he have known it was so minor to you?

I'd have done the same thing.... some @ss cut me off while driving today and insisted on braking hard in front of me (as if it was MY fault.. )
so i pulled up beside him, called him a fvcking pr|ck, and threw my nearly full mcdonalds coke cup at his window and drove away... what a j3rk0ff!!!

SAD FOR HIM!

I agree.

Get the license plate and then say you have some sort of ridiculous injury and sue his ass for not being able to go to work.

Neckbrace = $30
Leg cast = $20
Various BandAids = $5
Getting to stay home + moolah + getting the bastard back = priceless.

There are some things money can't buy. For everything else, there are lawyers.

I commend you on your quick judgement :D

Although, peds could be a little more courteous/cautious. On friday I was leaving campus and was comming up on a crosswalk. There was a big utility truck parked right in front of the crosswalk so as I approached I couldn't see if anyone was coming onto the crosswalk. All of a sudden a guy steps out looking straight ahead (not looking for traffic). I was on the verge of skidding when I stopped.

edit: I was going at or below the speed limit...slower than other cars...
