Was on PETA's website and saw a video that was very disturbing...

What a shame. I didn't even know sh*t like this was still going on. What took place is this...

2 guys who were working for some kennel were rounding up dogs and putting them into a metal container. I'm talking labs, a shitzue and other cute dogs. The one black lab was peering over the top of the death box because he was trying to get out. Once inside the 2 men closed the top door and locked it. They released the poison into the metal box and the dogs were so frightened that they were yelping and ramming their heads into the side of the metal box. You could actually see the side start to buckle! Within 30 seconds the dogs were dead and they opened the door and they started to put puppies on the dead dogs. We'll I don't think I need to explain what happens next...

dont believe everything you see on peta's website.

while its true that bad stuff happens...how do you know that peta isnt making these videos to shock you into believing their crap?

Looked real to me. In fact, they had an email that you could write to and voice a complaint.

Just yesterday somebody else posted a video from the peta website of animals being beaten, and then their skins were cut off. It was very disturbing.

well yeh the video is real...but how do you know peta didnt pay someone to do it? or what if its the extreme isolated case of that actually happening? wheres the proof of peta stopping whats happening? if they have a video tape of it why is it still going on?

Made me sad... then mad! I MEAN MAD!

That's life... it's not fair and sometimes it sucks... nothing you can do to prevent terrible people from doing terrible things.

Blame people, not the ones killing the dogs. If all the housewives and puppy lovers didn't go out and get a puppy, and then 6 months later get ride of the dog cause it wasn't cute anymore we wouldn't have to kill so many dogs and cats every year.

A dog is a 10 year investment, when people figure that out and get their dogs neutered, this wouldn't happen so much, but people don't and dogs and cats are killed every day by the 100.000's.

I throw the first stone at PETA.

edit: Actually if I got in my car within 10 minutes I can be in the parking lof of PETA headquarters in norfolk, va. I never seen any of the Pro-PETA/anti-PETA protests but I hear about it all the time on the local news.

Although i was at the circus (barnum and bailey) and they were handing out horrid flyers to everyone... even kids. Their headquarters was basically across the street.

Inflammatory bullshit from the same people who run "beer is better for you than milk" ads.
I've got personal experience with one of PETA's regional gurus. Talk about a battle of wits with an unarmed person. When a group has to mask their agenda with sensationalist crap to the point that their own members don't even know what their agenda is, I think the group has probably lost credibility, even to themselves.
PETA's official stance on what to do with all domesticated animals...
"Set them free and let it sort itself out."
That brilliance was laid upon me by their very own Franklin Wade.
BTW, PETA's other official stance is that none of us should keep pets. That includes your dog. It should be set free and sorted out.
How do you like them now?

I doubt very much PETA would risk destroying every shred of credibility it ever had by paying someone to kill animals in a horrible way and capture it on film... also, that goes against everything they stand for.

The reason it is still going on is that most people don't give a sh1t about animal welfare, I guess, and there isn't the political motivation to put a stop to it. Also, law enforcement doesn't tend to take animal cruelty seriously, and prosecutors tend not to vigorously pursue cases of animal cruelty.
