It's only $15 at DDD and I was thinking about ordering it tomorrow but I haven't seen it yet. I've heard a lot of people like it and a lot of people don't(mostly because of violence I've heard). haha it makes RD's violence look like a walk in the park.
I liked it a lot, and I then read the script online that contained the whole movie because I was curious to how the story played out.
The story seemed cool, and I'm looking forward to seeing Vol. 2.

I've seen his other works, except for Jackie Brown, and liked Kill Bill the best. Pulp Fiction was okay, just not my thing.
As for the violence in Kill Bill, with the exception of the beginning, it's very stylized and almost cartoonish in the level it approarches towards the end. I found most of it hilarious and am eagerly awaiting the rest of it on friday!
Considering how cheap KB is going for, it's worth buying. Though it's also worth considering waiting till they release both halves together, but that'd be after seeing it of course.
Edit: This is a movie to either love or hate, no middle ground. Up to you if you like chop-sockey enough to consider getting it

And they get randomly re-spliced back together., so that in the resulting film, while you watch it, you are traveling through many different dimensions.
Additionally, they are dimensions you know, but with a twist.
You will see a familiar story, maybe even a clichéd story, but it twisted. Sometimes this twist is an essential point he is making. Other times, it is just a game or inside joke. Inside to people who have seen the films he is paying homage too. If you never saw Bruce Lee?s ;last film, you would not know why Uma is wearing a Yellow suit.
If you never saw Pulp Fiction, you won?t get the reference to the scene about coffee and ?Dead N!gger storage.?
Lets hope with some artistic License the Mods let me post this scene from Pulp Fiction.

Parts of it were good, but parts of it were crap. Personally, I'll be happy if I don't see it again. I'd say rent it rather than buy it.
it's not for everyone. that's the best way I can put it.
I loved it and all of my friends loved it, but there are some people I know that hated it.
if you like kung-fu flicks, you'll love it. if you go into part 1 expecting a tight plot and lots of character development, you'll probably hate it.
just rent it. worse case scenario, you hate it and you're only out 2 hours and $4.

Regarding the realism, the movie was one of the worst I saw. Other than that, it is not a movie I would like to see again

this is why I say that it's not a movie for everyone. if you go into it expecting Resevoir Dogs, you won't like it.
IMO, Kill Bill 1+2 is the best movie Q.T. has made so far. But in order to really get into it, you need to either a) be a fan of kung-fu or western flicks, or b) understand and appreciate the fact that Kill Bill is an homage to kung-fu and western flicks. that's why a lot of the acting and dialogue came off as so cheesy sometimes, and that's the reason it was unrealistic.
take the blood spurts, for instance. that's obviously unrealistic. the reason Q.T. did it like that was not due to lack of skill, but because that's the way the Japanese kung-fu flicks did it back in the 70's.

I enjoyed seeing bad ass women. But it was too bloody for my taste. I lost count of the number of people who hit the floor after being stabbed, cut, or hacked.

I watched it recently and I thought it was alright. Maybe it wasn't as impressive because my friends had hyped it so much.
