Was at the scratch academy in NYC and he was there doing a little showcase and helping people on techniques. Very nice guy and down to earth. Pretty cool experience.

That's not what I mean. He's a black dude with the nickname Grand Wizard, which is also what they call the head dude of the KKK. A little odd.

This from the guy we all remember as a 14 year old with "pokeball" attached to the end of his name.

Blowjob jokes and drug convictions, you've come a long ways!

(it's been a long time since my last pokeball reference, I'm allowed one every now & then)

I know the basics of turntablisim, but I started out with serato and control records. I decided I wanted to take a step back and learn the true art with real records and correct techniques. I think I may have taken a class that's a little too easy for me but I haven't been to many classes yet, and so far the teachers are excellent.

They really do start with the basics and work you up from there. If you need anything or are stuck on a certain technique they will do anything to help you and make sure that you learn it. It's useful as it teaches you the correct way to go about handling yourself on turntables, although I may have been doing certain things that sounded right the teachers will show you the proper way which helps kick bad habits, etc.

All in all, at this point I'd say it's worth it. I'll let you know though when classes are finished.

Ahhh Viper maybe I've come a long way but you are still the same Viper...a guy who will reply in someone's thread with a negative reponse or some sort of way to look at things in a negative light. Has life treated you so unfairly? Or maybe it's because you have realized you have nothing to do but post on AnandTech forums..

Nothing negative intended. More just an observation that we've both been here a long time. Hell when I started posting here I wore boots, Wrangler jeans - Complete with a belt buckle! And since we're both still here after all these years we must not get along too badly.

Fair enough. But Wrangler jeans & a belt buckle? I was at least fashionable the whole time I've been here :p

I wonder if the spelling is an attempt to separate himself from the KKK association.

I don't know jack about the KKK so it wouldn't have even crossed my mind, but I suppose those that live in active KKK areas would make the connection much faster.

LOL, I was thinking the same thing. I did not know anybody else used the term "Grand Wizzard".
