Was Joe Dingleberry too hard on the playmates?

Get your mind out of the gutters! here this in regards to how a couple of them didn't really try and swim in the freezing cold water to get these lights:

<< . And Angel, she was terrific. She was a lot of fun. And Lauren was a lot of fun. But the two girls that quit at the end, Priscilla and Stacey, that was just pathetic. They wouldn't even try for 50,000 dollars. And they got to keep the money, it wasn't for charity.

Look, I don't need 50,000 dollars, and I would've done it right then and there. I was ready to just take my clothes off and just jump in the water. I was so pissed off. When the world hands you everything from the time you're young, just because you're pretty, you just never develop a character. That's the big stereotype with Playmates and unfortunately some of them were the epitome of that stereotype.

I don't know how cold it is but I know that when I'm in very very cold water I can hardly move properly. Once the temp gets around 50 most of your body strength totally goes. Add to the fact that they had to hold their breath and do a fairly claustraphic excercise I think that his opinion being publically on the fear factor site is a bit harsh.

BTW I know there was a post on these but I don't think i thad my kick-ass quote!!

Well, when I'm looking for pillars of intestinal fortitude I usually don't look to the ranks of Payboy Bunnies.

I'd keep them in the fox hole for other reasons.

Hrmm... I thought he was a complete pansy actually. I would like see the drill instructor from Full Metal Jacket replace him.

It WAS ridiculous, all they had to do was swim down for one second, get one stick, and come up. For 50G's I would have done more then that.

For $50,000 I would have done it naked on national TV despite the massive shrinkage.

Of course if that was a viable option, I think the viewing public would donate more than $50,000, so they wouldnt have to watch me do it naked on national TV. 😉

<< Is his name really Dingleberry? >>

No 😉

I would like to know how cold the water was. That really is the clincher. If it was 65 F, then yeah they were lame. If it was 38 F then almost nobody here could do that no matter what they say. Too bad we don't know, do we...?

I don't know if the playmates were warned beforehand or not, but some people are:

a)poor swimmers
b) terrified of water
c) claustraphobic
d) a mixture of all of the above

Considering that, if the contestants possessed any of the following fears then I respect their decision not to even swim. This is not a low risk exercise. Having worked at a public pool for 2 years, I've seen my share of people panic when they get disoriented in a 10 foot wide open swimming pool.

Now imagine that you are trapped under two levels of casing in freezing temperatures and you are running short on air.

I'd like to see some of the naysayers to pony up the brass before shooting off their mouths.

I think he's 100% right. They didn't even try for it. If Angel and Lauren did it, the other two could have at least tried. It's not called Fear Factor because it's supposed to be easy.

It didn't seem to bother Angel much.

I kind of like the name "Dingleberry". I would take it as a stage name. It would be a little rough though if you weren't a comedic actor.

I can see it now, playing the role of Macbeth, Joe Dingleberry.

Well Stacey did try she swam about a body length and then turned back. As vi_edit mentioned under water it's very easy to get disoriented. Going in an enclosed area in freezing cold water where the lighting isn't all that great exagerates the problem. What I would have liked would have been for J. Dingleberry to put his money where his mouth is. He watches people eat snake penises and cow balls, but he never does it.

Those things are probably delicacies in some parts of the world.

p.s. Never really thought about a snake having a penis. Doesn't it hurt to sliding along the ground?

Nah, the penis is tucked under a scale on the bottom of the snake.... it only comes out when needed (mating)

Well, lauren was nippin like a mofo before she even got into the water.
