Was Jackson as fiscally conservative as Jefferson?

I believe that Jackson somehow spent more than JQ Adams, despite Jackson vetoing public works projects. I know that Jefferson spent less than John Adams and that Jefferson paid off ~1/3 of the Federal debt while Jackson paid off almost all of it.

What was likely to be more expensive: the Trail of Tears or the LA Purchase?

I guess Jackson got a lot of revenue from sales of Native American property.

Jefferson was the bigger tightwad...he hardly ever let Weezy spend any money even though he was raking it in with his dry cleaning business.

No way. Weezy was the tightwad. She didn't even want a maid. He was the one wanting to throw money around, especially because he was trying to impress Mr. Wittendale.

No amount of money was going to make up for George letting the Wittendale's dog jump off the roof.

Is that a Florida voter? Where's the dumpster?

That's an early photo of Jeb Bush. No dumpster required. :p

Regarding Jefferson, ... 'round these parts he would have met an 'untimely end' just for being an uppity dry cleaner.

While the Jackson family had immense talent, there's just no show quite like Jeffersons On Ice.
