Was it really a good idea to put wireless internet in the engeneering and computer science building?

Probably not. Are they running any sort of encryption? Here at work they had to turn off the wireless access in the Administration building because they left it unencrypted and later found out that students and others were sitting outside the building trying to pick up information. Such information that was being passed along was logins for student financial aid, grades, etc.

We have wireless in all of our lecture halls.... it's a pretty bad idea, especially if I need to pay attention.

Its REALLY not a good idea near the instrumentations labs if they don't have good shielding. :)

But yeah, they've had to really watch where they put wireless here at VT... in the first six months they had some packet sniffers find and publish some REALLY sensitive information on the web.

Sac State?

Does Sac State have wireless internet in classrooms? I thought it was available in one of their buildings that was the equivalent of the Memorial Union @ UCD.
