Was it a mistake...

to return an Asus A8V board that allowed me to OC my 3000+ all the way to 2700 (300FSB) because of a nonfunctioning NIC? I exchanged it for a K8N Neo2 board. I'm under the impression that OC'ing is more a function of the memory(OCZ 3700EB) and the CPU itself, and not so much the board. I won't get to try the new mobo until I get home from work today. Thoughts?

Somewhat similar situation:

Back when the Rev2.00 A7N8X Deluxe first came out, I ordered one at NewEgg and got it and was very happy it was a Rev2.
Unfortunately, the SoundStorm didn't work. (still doesn't actually).
I didn't return it because I didn't want a Rev 1.0x.

Doesnn't really bother me though. My Audigy 2 would have gone in a junk computer or eBay.

But, you already sent it back (?) so, not much use fretting about it now 🙂

I'm trying to pacify myself by with the better features on the neo2 board, i.e. hardware firewall, independent NIC channels, rounded cables (never owned any 'til now), and a hope of clocking it even higher since the FSB goes up to 450, and not 300 like the A8V.
