Was I right to call the police?

So I pull into the lot, get out of my car and I see a group of 7 idiots. It's 11:30 at night and what are they doing? Playing night basketball/tenis/football in the vacinity of all the cars in the lot! (3 spots away from my car) I saw them nail a few cars with a basketball, don't know if there was any damage. So I run up to my room and call the campus police and tell them what I saw and that they possibly damaged a few cars. Did I do the right thing? Will check on my car in 10 minutes.

yes,

1) i'm sure they violate a noise policy of sorts
2) they are likely tresspassing
3) they are just generally rude.

I hope the cops busted them.

Campus Police: Yes.... REAL Police: No.

While we may rib them for primarily serving a small section of the population, campus police *are* real police and we often back each other up.

They were playing basketball? So what!!! The basketball isnt' going to damage your god damn car.

NO, they were hitting the basketball with a racket. Its a parking lot, NOT a basketball court/park. Could have easily taken a window out. The campus police=state police stationed @ my school. I just went out (in disguise) and checked and they were gone, I saw the police pass by. Took down both of the car's plates in case anyone had any damages to their car.

Yep. At our school they were TX state troopers. We had a nice talk about it when he clocked me doing 46 in a 20. (That was after I hit my brakes)
