i got the DSL kit from Bellsouth
hooked everything up
installed the software
tried to connect

PROBLEM!! no Line Sync
called Bellsouth
they said something is wrong with my phone line and thats why my external DSL modem wont line sync?!?!
shouldnt they have thought of this b4 telling me i qualify for DSL??
they have a computer test and modem test but they dont do a phone line test b4 they say sure you can get DSL?!?!?

now they said someone gonna have to come out here and check the phone lines in my house!!
thats not till September 14!!!
and they are gonna charge me $80 for the first 30mins than $50 for every 30mins after that!!!

i have a couple of weeks to figure out whats wrong
does anyone know??

You need to try and eliminate the house wiring from the equation which means hooking it up if possible right at the Demarc box. If you can do that and it does not synch up then it is not your house wiring and they should not charge you.

Make sure you have filters on EVERY phone that is on the line you are hooking it up to in your house. My DSL would not hook up if I didn't.

For them to charge you is rediculous. I would have told them to piss off and ordered cable.

Make sure you have sync at the NID. Personally I would get a different carrier if they were going to charge me for repairs before they ever got the service working that they promised me.

I highly recommend going to the Bellsouth forum at DSLReports and ask your questions there (be detailed). There are several BSFA techs there who can and are willing to walk you through any problem, for free. They've helped me several times.
