And she told me that she found women nicer to look at then men.

She informed me that there really isn't much to look at when it comes to the male body.

I couldn't disagree with her. But I would of thought a woman wouldn't mind looking at the naked form of a man. Is there some sort of woman logic to this?

Maybe it's just her, but she is straight.

Female bodies are about beauty, curves, and all the good stuff. Male bodies are rigid and functional.

I dunno, it depends on the viewpoint I guess. Overall, the female body on average is more objectively asthetically pleasing, I think. On the other hand, the idealized male body, the Greek perfection, is equally beautiful. I just think that you see more females that come somewhat close to the current ideal than you see males coming close to the ideal.

On a completely other note, my guy is the only one I want to go after at all. :)

they say that for two reasons, IMO.

1)theyre not attracted to the men they are talking to, so they dont want to offend them. for example, if a man were to say "i dont like small boobs" to a small chested woman, she may be offended, so its the inverse.

2)they dont want to tip their hand and been seen on the same level as men. men are visual creatures, as evidence by the booming porn industry, and as such have the reputation of dogs that hit anything that looks good, arent afraid to ogle a woman, etc. women like to do the same thing, around other women, but keep it under wraps around men so they can still pull out the "dog card" and not be hypocritical.

while i agree with her as far as women being better to look at, i really dont see how a woman could be straight and not find anything sexually pleasing in the male form. maybe for the women that feel this way its an issue of social conditioning. most ads feature women as sex objects or in the perfect form (unrealistic for the vast majority of women) and very few show men in that sense.

but im male, so i do have a bias in my answer.

wouldnt that be what a woman is looking for in a mate, speaking in a biological sense? those attributes go a long way in providing and protecting.

Naturally I do suppose so, but then again most of us do live in the first world so its different with home security systems and white collar jobs :) But also on that note, ideally men should be looking for a woman with big breasts and child bearing hips - not nessasarily T&A but a BBW.

Well for one thing, it's much easier to assess and admire the female form in everyday situations. Almost no matter what a woman is wearing, you can see the features that are deemed attractive in the female form. With men, it's a little more difficult to really be able to see and judge the features that are considered physically attractive about a man's body in everyday stituations. Unless he's running around the office in his boxer shorts, it's really hard to admire his pecs, abs, quads, etc. I know that when I see a guy with a great body at the beach or pool I find it very, very interesting indeed.

As for which is more physically pleasing to look at, I'd think that most people would say that the average woman's body is more aesthetically interesting than the average man's, but those Greek statues of the perfect male body are considered some of the world's most beautiful art for more than just the sculptor's skill.

i would have to disagree with this. i use to hang out with a bunch of girls that were dancers, topless, and must say that some girls would come in and look excellent in clothes. when they came out on the floor in their "outfit" their body looked bad, 180 degrees from what i would have thought would have been underneath the clothing. maybe it was a relative thing as most of the girls there were 9+s and if a 7-8 came out she didn't look good, not really sure.

back to the op - just about every female i know have said this and i think it is because more females actually come closer to what is "ideal" as if a man has an extra 30#s no big deal if he is making $100,000/yr. if he makes $20,000/yr nobody pays any attention to him because females are not nearly as visually aroused as men are.

it's interesting how humans perceive things so differently than other mammals.

for most mammals, the males preen and the females do all the work.

look at the lions etc.

also, when fewing most birds, it's the males that are the colorful ones and the females that are drab looking.

on that level, even with humans, it's the males with all the body hair (equivalent to lions mane) and the female that just has biologically necessary attachments (breast).

you don't see cows preening and showing off their udders. ;)

having said all that, yes, i prefer looking at female bodies more than male bodies.
