I just saw it today. Not a very strong plot, but I thought it was entertaining. Won't be winning any awards like the Batman movies.

I may just be weird, but I haven't liked any of the Craig-era Bond movies. Give me a Connery-era Bond movie over a Craig movie any day. Hell, I'd rather watch a Flint movie than most Bond movies.
Skyfall was a snoozefest. I couldn't wait for it to be over. It just didn't capture your attention and keep you engaged like the Casino Royale movie (2nd one with Craig).
Argo on the other hand is a masterfully made movie. It certainly kept you on your toes and the direction was superb even though it was a pretty simple story.
I have to say, I agree with the OP
Saw this movie over the holiday weekend and it blows. It's weird because its 2 hours and 20 minutes but it doesn't seem like anything happens in the entire movie.
Maybe spoilers:
Way over the top hacking bad guy whose back story was only touched on briefly and poorly done, and also terrible acting. And Bond miraculously coming back from the dead without being explained at all also make it a tribute to the old, completely unbelievable bond movies. He was shot twice, falls several hundred feet into water and suddenly shows up banging some chick at some beach somewhere
How did the bad guy escape from that cell?

if 'argo' had actual footage, my dad would have been in the embassy before it got stormed.

I can't say enough about how bad 'Skyfall' was so let me say it again. Skyfall blows and is worst Bond movie in 20+ years. Even 'Die Another Day' had Halle Berry, this one didn't even have but 2 seconds of hot chick and it was terrible.
TERRIBLE I SAY!!!!!!!
The only good part of the movie was the beginning with the train scene and Bond's sudden demise.
After the ridiculously long 10 minute intro with Adele's terrible singing, it was all down hill.
Yeah I've pretty much given up on going to the theaters. A few times a year, that's it. Home theater plus Netflix & Vudu makes it hard to justify $13.25 per ticket (or $16 for 3D). Also, I don't know what kind of magic juju beans they're using in Vudu's HDX 1080p streaming, but holy cow does that stuff look good! Even better than Netflix in HD!
