Was Ghostbusters the first example of the matrix?

Do you think all the wierd stuff in the movie "ghostbusters" was actually a breakdown in the second or third matrix?

lol, you watching ghostbusters on tbs right now? i guess, the whole alternate universe (where they look in the fridge in weaver's apartment...) kinda reaching a bit with that theory though?

I was just watching it, thought of the haunted house in the animatrix, and thought the machines probably screwed up alot until they got it right! :|:beer:

in point of fact no. to my knowledge, the first example of a popularized matrix dates back to long before christ. Plato's "Republic" features a striking matrix, wherein the prisoners are held in a cave (form birth) and deprived of all sensation except for a somewhat elaborate shadow play on the wall. One prisoner finally escapes the cave (neo) and actualizes himself.

Yeah.

It's hardly a new concept. We kinda live in a Matrix in a sense. There are certainly "higher up" things that the general population has no knowledge or control of.
