Warrior UK audition (Ninja warrior)

On Tuesday 🙂

Pretty pumped about it.

I had to fill in this form, include a pic and a video. I just cut up bits and pieces from my videos and gave that in.

I have some physical testing and a interview.

There are going to be loads of free runners/ parkour guys showing up and I'm probably going to be the only weightlifter.

Awesome, good luck with it. Have you been doing any Ninja Warrior specific training? The ideal athlete for this seems to be a gymnast/rock climber hybrid, upper body strength and endurance, balance, and coordination being hugely important.

Not really. I've been doing more pull ups. I'm better at wider grip pull ups as I've practice them more. I did some more pull ups whilst holding on to a towel.

I'm agile on my feet as I use to be a skinny guy. I've done about 200hrs of recreational gymnastics and I use to rock climb when I was younger but haven't for years.

If a rock climber can make it past the first round they usually do well. But as always anything can appear on the show and it's usually one or two obstacles that gets everyone. Then the following year people practice that obstacle and get better. Then the following year they introduce something else.

Yeah most muscle guys don't tend to do well. Does the UK version have the wall at the end you have to run up? If you are shorter that's always posed a problem too. Have a gym that caters to "ninjas" that you can train at prior to competing?

You did well on the Gladiator. Post a video if you can.

I don't think the auditions are like the US ones where people get filmed doing a mini version to the stages.

I get a physical test and a interview at this venue.

Bigger guys get ruined on the grip stuff. My grip is good but I'm not sure how good compared to the stage 3 stuff as most rock climbers/ people get destroyed on it.

No idea what the UK will have but I'm fairly sure it'll have the warped wall. I'm 5'10 and I can jump well so I should be okay. But I may too gassed out on it and that would be embarrassins.

There are a few parkour gyms about 90mins away that have have more facilities and things that I could train with. I'll see how my auditions go tomorrow first.

Cheers for the support guys.

It was good on the whole but we had a few things that were tough.

If I hear back by the 16th March I'll be on the show and if not I'm not. I think I interviewed better than the 3 guys in my group.

About 4500 people applied and I'm not sure of the numbers that got a group audition.

I'll comment more about the stuff we did either when I hear back or I don't 😛

I'm going to spend the next 5 weeks doing more rock climbing and grip based things.

Great to hear and I wish you the best of luck! You are definitely one of the nicest / most helpful guys on here. It'd be great if you make it! I'd love to see you representing ATHF!

Cheers guys. I appreciate the support!

Show time in 4 days.
