Getting this card second hand off of a guy who took it off his DELL XPS... It works fine but assuming the thing goes out on me, they claim warrenty only for origional buyers. Anyone ever got BFG to replace non-origional product?? or know how strict they are on this point. I see on their site that they might want a proof of purchase..which I won't have. SO... anyone?

There are some conflicting stories about their warranty and I think it really depends what mood the BFG employee is in at the time of an attempted RMA.

I have sold a BFG 6800GT on eBay before and told the person there would be no warranty, but he still managed to pull off an RMA even after he ruined it himself by putting a Zalman on incorrectly. He is in the military so that might have pulled some weight.

lol. Maybe. I myself am a Customer service rep atm so I know the right and wrong things to say as far as that is concerned...I wonder if I should call in a few times under other names to get a feel for what they'll say

Their warranty is great man. I sold a 4th hand 6800 ultra before that I guess got damaged and the guy was able to rma no problem. He was the 4th person to own it so... Also, when the did return the card to him, they gave him a 7800gt instead of the 6800ultra as well.

Ive actually called them before and they basically told me that if I wasnt the original purchaser of the card, to not tell them that and keep it to myself because that would void the warranty lol. They are great. I wouldnt worry about it.
