He's worth billions and drives a Cadillac? His house only cost $700,000? Wow. That's admirable.

Also, if he's giving up 95% of his wealth to charity, that still leaves him with over $200 million. I'm sure he'll be ok.

Warren B. is an interesting character. He almost never uses Berkshire funds to travel and if he does it's always the cheapest way. He never really used any company travel at all. He keeps his car and his house and lives pretty modestly relative to his wealth. He's definitely a buy and hold.

Personally, I think the greatest quote of his was when somebody asked him how much money he gave his kids...

he said something like...

"I gave them enough to do something but not enough to do nothing". I believe his son is a farmer and his daughter is a painter or something like that.

More accurately:
"Give them enough so they can do anything, but not so much that they can do nothing."

Still pseudo-quoted though

I think his daughter has authored several books about Mr BUffett.

Now, looking around, I think he might not have retired. Misleading article I guess. I cought hte reference to 1969, but thought that was an idealistic letter from back then. I thought this was for real. If not, I'm sorry.

Err, does anyone noticed the letter being referenced to is his "retirement" letter in 1969?? :p

That's what I was wondering. The article is about his "retirement" in 1969 when he got frustrated, not a current retirement letter.

Did anyone else bother reading the article? Or is this a joke.
