I received as a gift an iPad 2. It is, however, the version sold in China (part number MC769CH/A instead of MC769LL/A for NA iPads).

Do you guys know how warranty and support would work in the United States for this sold-in-China iPad?

Thanks.

You should be fine so long as it is a legit iPad and the serial number is in the system, I don't see why a US Apple Store couldn't service/replace it. Since it would almost certainly be a replacement unless it was a software issue.

Unless their service policies changed over the past year or two, your warranty won't carry over.

for carrier related products, that's true.

however I was told by a genius a couple of years ago that wifi ipads would be just fine, the warranty is good worldwide.
