My kids video card just died and Fry's has the ATI version of the HD 4870 and the Diamond version. I know the Diamond is only 1 Year so I think I want to avoid that one.

Thanks,

If the price is near the same and you have a Best Buy near you, I hear the Visiontek is the way to go as far as warranty.

Agreed, go with visiontek, it has the best warranty of any current high end ATI board maker AFAIK.

Even so their support is a bit shoddy IMHO, but it is at least better to have some kind of a lifetime warranty
rather than some of the 3 month / 6 month / 12 month / 2 year / 3 year nonsense from others especially when those
are limited by some rather severe limitations (caveat emptor).

If you have a credit / debit card that offers automatic or free extended warranty protection,
that is highly advantageous to use for such electronics transactions.

If you get the VisionTek HD4870 from Newegg.com you get their 1 year warranty then you still have the lifetime warranty afterwards and IMO Newegg has very good customer support.

Got the Visiontek at my local BB. I didn't have time to order one from Newegg or I would have went that route.

Same here, except with the 10% off coupon from the post office's change of address pack, Best Buy was actually cheaper than ordering from newegg would have been.

Wow, where is that BB? Because I had managers at 2 stores here in MA tell me that the PO 10% card couldn't be used for videocards?
Could you give me some detailed info so I can go back there?
