moral of the story sounds like to not buy extended warranties.
You the new alkemyst? I think I can spare 10 minues a night. Is your time that worthless?
How about option D : Go to a used appliance store. Buy a dishwasher in good shape that has been serviced for about $200. Profit. And, stop wasting money on extended warranties.

Especially is it is a soon to be ex (broken) wife.If I used something for six years and the company gave me 75% the cost to buy a NEW one, I would jump for joy. It's more than fair.
Step 1:Get wife
Step 2: Pocket Cash

From my experience and others I know, when it comes to extended warranties and getting things fixed. The company either fixes it or you get all the cash back (minus the extended warranty) that you paid for the product to use towards getting a new one. Sounds like they are scamming you.
Don't buy extended warranties.
